THE LEAD:
Another strong offensive performance lifted Maine to an 11-3 victory over the Hartford softball team on Sunday. The Black Bears hit three home runs to take the series finale from the Hawks.

Peyton Fisher went 2-for-3 for the Hawks in a losing effort, while fellow senior
Sawyer Fried went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI in their final career home conference game.
Danielle DeMarco and
Elizabeth Newkirk also drove in runs for Hartford. Erika Leonard and Rachel Harvey each had four hits for Maine, while Leonard, Meghan Royle and Felicia Lennon each hit home runs in the win.

Annie Kennedy picked up the win for Maine, with six hits and three runs allowed in four innings of work. Molly Flowers also was strong out of the bullpen, carding three scoreless innings.
Bianca Ross was credited with the loss for Hartford.

HOW THEY SCORED:
• The Hawks again got out to an early lead in the first, when Dazalla singled, moved to second on a
Jenice Aloyo sacrifice and came in to score on a DeMarco RBI single.
• Maine answered in the second with an RBI single and a sac fly making it a 2-1 lead.
• The Black Bears added three more runs on a three-run homer by Lennon to left to make it 5-1.
• A two-run homer by Royle and an RBI single in the fourth pushed the lead to 8-1.
• The Hawks came back in the bottom of the fourth, with Fried doubling home pinch-runner
Dani Regina to make it 8-2.
• Newkirk followed, and her single through the right side plated Fried to cut it to 8-3 going to the fifth.
• Maine added a solo run in the top of the fifth and a pair of tallies in the seventh to result in the final score.
