The University of Hartford Men's Soccer team rolled to its first win of the season, turning in a dominant performance in a 3-0 victory against Saint Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday night at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium. HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Jonasson put Hartford on top, 1-0, in the 51st minute when he corralled a rebound in the box and fired it back past St. Francis senior keeper Seth Erdman.
- Just minutes later, Tryon took a pass from fellow senior Udi Cohen on a corner kick and lifted a header past the diving Erdman. Tryon tucked his shot just inside the near post to give the Hawks a 2-0 edge in the 56th minute.
- Morrison got in on the action in late in the half, redirecting a pass from Cohen and Fredrik Ekman and sending a header out of the reach of Erdman.
- Slayton turned in the first clean sheet of his career, finishing with four saves in the shutout victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Hartford held the edge in shots (13-7) and corners (7-6), and the teams were each whistled for 18 fouls in the game.
- The Terriers picked up a pair of yellow cards (Leo Folla, Djiby Sarr), while Hartford was issued one (Christoph Am Ende).
- Cohen, Jonasson and freshman Alexis Triadis led Hartford's attack, with each player finishing with three shots on the night.

- The goals marked the first of the season for Jonasson, Tryon and Morrison.
- Tryon's goal was the 15th of his career. Morrison's was his fourth and Jonasson netted the second of his career.
- The win marked the Hawks' first shutout since the 2015 season finale, when Hartford blanked UMass Lowell, 2-0.
- The three goals were the most Hartford has scored in a contest since beating Monmouth, 3-1, on Sept. 4, 2015.
- The margin of victory was the Hawks' largest since defeating UMass Lowell, 5-2, in the 2013 regular season finale on Nov. 6.
- Hartford hasn't lost at home since Oct. 10, 2015, in a 2-1 setback against Vermont.

UP NEXT:
Hartford will wrap up its three-game home stand on Tuesday, Sept. 13, when the Hawks host Saint Joseph's (Pa.). The Hawks are 1-0 all-time against Saint Joe's, having claimed a 2-0 win in 1985. Saint Joe's is currently 0-3 and has surrendered seven goals in those games.
