BOSTON — Hartford volleyball senior
Jenna Bridges was recognized again by the America East, as she was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
A native of Exeter, R.I., Bridges has been the most elite performer in the league. Her seven America East Player of the Week honors are the most by an America East player in a single season.
Bridges, a middle blocker, is coming off another stellar performance. She delivered 20 kills, marking the sixth time this season she records 20+ kills.
Bridges has anchored the Hawks' offense, which leads the conference in hitting percentage (.244) and kills (13.02). She enters the week ranked atop the America East in hitting percentage (.370), kills per set (3.90) and points per set (4.42).
Bridges and the Hawks have a pair of home matches on the docket for this week. Hartford concludes its non-conference slate on Thursday (Oct. 31), when it welcomes new Division I member Merrimack to the Hartford Volleyball Gym for a 7 p.m. tilt. The Hawks resume America East play on Sunday (Nov. 3), for a Senior Day matchup against Binghamton at 1 p.m.
The Hawks are currently tied for third in the America East standings with a 3-3 record.
