BOSTON, Mass. – After breaking Hartford softball's single-season hit record this past week, sophomore
Danielle Rocheleau was named America East Player of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
With her second hit in Sunday's win against Binghamton, Rocheleau became the single-season hit leader for the Hawks with 59, breaking
Danielle Simoneau's record of 58, which was set in 1994.
Rocheleau finished the week batting .438 with a home run, three doubles, four runs scored and seven RBI to lead Hartford to its second America East Series win of the season. On top of breaking the single-season hit record, she is also two hits shy from reaching 100 for her career.
Rocheleau leads the conference in hits and ranks second in batting average (.437) and RBI (33).
Hartford is back in action on the road against UMass Lowell on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
