Women's golf rounds out play at Kingsmill

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Hartford women's golf team placed 18th of 19 teams in the 54-hole Kingsmill Intercollegiate. 

Madeline Adam posted her best round of the event, shooting an eight-over 80 with six bogeys and a double bogey. Adam was the top Hawks golfer for the 54 holes with a 250. 

Leslie Li and Lilly Moreau were the next golfers tied with an event score of 254. Li carded a 10-over 82 with six bogeys and two double bogeys, while Moreau shot a 17-over 89 with a birdie, seven bogeys, a double bogey, and three triple bogeys. 

Grace Farland finished the event at 259 after posting a 16-over 88 in the final round. She carded 12 bogeys and two double bogeys in the final 18 holes. Teagan Devoe rounded out the Hartford scoring with a 269. She finished the third round with a 16-over 88 with 12 bogeys and two double bogeys.

DAY ONE RECAP
After the first two rounds, Hartford was sitting in 18th place with a total score of 678.

Moreau is the top golfer following the 36-hole opening day with a 21-over. After posting an 11-over 83 in the first round, she improved by three strokes in the second with an 8-over 80, which was the best round by any Hartford golfer in this tournament. Moreau had nine double bogeys and a pair of triple bogeys in the first round but was able to respond with two birdies, seven bogeys, and a double bogey. 

Farland was the Hawks' leader in the clubhouse after the first round with a 10-over 82 with a birdie, eight bogeys, and a triple bogey. However, she finished the second round with a 17-over 89 to complete the first day at 27-over. In her second round, she carded six bogeys, two double bogeys, and a triple bogey. 

Adam was consistent on the first day, carding a pair of 13-over-85 rounds. She had seven bogeys and three double bogeys in the first round and tallied eight bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple bogey in the second round. 

Li and Devoe capped the Hawks scoring with a 28-over and 37-over, respectively. Li had a birdie, 13 bogeys, four double bogeys, and two triple bogeys, while Devoe finished with 21 bogeys, six double bogeys, and a triple bogey. 

Hartford hosts its lone tournament of the season on April 7 and April 8 at Gillette Ridge GC in Bloomfield.
