FRISCO, Texas - The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced their 2025-26 All-American Scholar Team on Monday afternoon. Of the selected members, three Hawks were selected; freshman Leah Petruzzi (Southington, Conn.), sophomore Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.), and junior Abigail Crabtree (Bellport, N.Y.).
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
• Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
• Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
• Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship
Petruzzi played in 15 total rounds for Hartford with her best finish coming at the Hartford Hawks/Wintonbury Hills Women's Spring Invitational where she finished sixth place, shooting a 91. Off the course, Leah is currently studying Sport Management at Hartford.
DeBenedetto played in 18 total rounds with a scoring average of 92.4 in 2025-26, with her best finish coming from The Wintonbury Hills Tri-Match in which she placed sixth overall with a score of 87. Off the course, Gabby studies Biomedical Engineering.
Crabtree played in 14 total rounds with a scoring average of 95.5 in 2025-26; her top performance came at the Hartford Wampanoag Women's Spring Invitational, where she finished 10th. Off the course, Abigail studies Exercise Science.
