Six University of Hartford softball players have been honored for their work in the classroom by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Recent graduates Lauren Card, Caylee English, Kelsey Galevich, Samantha Nagel, and Mara Szecienski, along with junior Olivia Wolk were named NFCA Scholar-Athletes.
Szecienski, English, Card, and Nagel are all three-time honorees for the academic honor. It marks the second straight season Wolk made the academic list.

Sczecienski, Hartford's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, finished her collegiate career with a 4.0 GPA. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Sczecienski has earned Presidents' List Distinction all four years. She was the 2022 Junior Regents' Honors Award Recipient and a 2023 Solomon Elsner Award honoree.

English earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing with a 3.92 GPA. She finished tied for a team-high with seven wins with seven complete games and two saves. Her 101 strikeouts are tied for 10th all-time for a single season. English has also served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Rep, has been on the Presidents' and Dean's List all four years, and is a 2023 Senior Regents' Honor Award Recipient.
 
Card produced her finest season in a Hawks uniform in 2023, finishing tied for the team lead with seven wins. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and business analytics with a 3.78 GPA. Card finished with a 2.50 ERA with four complete games and a shutout. She is also a four-year Deans List recipient and a two-time Presidents List honoree.
 
Nagel finished with a 3.78 GPA in nursing. She ended the season hitting .275 with six doubles, one home run, and 12 RBI. Wolk has a 3.87 GPA in Biochemistry and hit .292 with six doubles, three triples, two home runs, 14 RBI, and a team-high seven steals.
 
Hartford finished the season at 16-16.
