WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District soccer teams were announced with six members of the Hartford women's soccer team featured.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Women's Soccer Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests.
The six Hawks making the list include senior
Andrea Buzas (Wethersfield, Conn.), sophomore Angela Chávez (Glastonbury, Conn.), junior
Morgan Egan (East Granby, Conn.), senior
Mayson Massaro (Sarasota, Fla.), senior
Rebecca Opdenbrouw (Vernon, Conn.) and junior
Mia Mangalji (Toronto, Ontario).
Opdenbrouw will also be in consideration for Academic All-America after being selected to as finalists.
Buzas started 15 games while playing in 20 overall games for Hartford in her senior season. Andrea ended the season with 1578 minutes played with an assist. She was later named to the Conference of New England (CNE) Community Service Team.
Chávez played in 20 games in 2025 while making 12 starts in her sophomore year. Angela ended the year with six assists in 1285 minutes.
Egan made a huge impact for the Hawks in her junior season starting 14 games and playing in 19 overall. Morgan ended the year with two goals and an assist in 1243 minutes played.
Massaro ended her senior season with 15 starts and 17 overall games played. Mayson finished the season with five goals, one assist and two game-winners in 1218 minutes on the pitch.
Opdenbrouw had a career-year in her senior season starting all 21 games on the season. Rebecca ended the year with 14 goals, 10 assists and six game-winners in 1546 minutes played. Opdenbrouw was named the CNE Offensive Player of the Year and the CNE All-Conference First Team.
Mangalji started 16 games in her junior season while making 18 overall appearances. Mia ended the season with 1541 minutes played and was later named to the CNE All-Conference Third Team.
