Wright Headlines Eight Hawks on CNE Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Thursday, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced its men's lacrosse all-conference teams with eight members of the University of Hartford featured including freshman Shaun Wright (Frederick, Md.) being named the Rookie of the Year. 

Sophomores Aiden Ezra (New Milford, Conn.), CJ Ledwick (Falmouth, Mass.) and Ben Castanzo (Chester, Conn.) as well as senior Nick DiDomizio (Chester, Conn.) made the All-Conference Second Team. Sophomore Michael Novotny (Cornwall, N.Y.) and junior Tobias Ballester (Westwood, N.J.) both made All-Conference Third Team. Senior Griffin Weller (Canton, Conn.) made the CNE community service team. 

Wright was named the conference's rookie of the year after registering 33 points in his first season. Shaun was a CNE Rookie of the Week twice and was third on the team in scoring in 2025. 

DiDomizio finished his senior season as a member of the All-Conference Second Team. Nick has been a staple on defense for Hartford since transferring in. DiDomizio finished the year with 33 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers to his name. 

Ezra finished the year as a CNE All-Conference Second Team selection. Ezra finished the year second for the Hawks in goals scored with 28 and first in points with 47 total. 

Ledwick finished the year as a member of the CNE All-Conference Second Team. CJ had a stellar season finishing the year with a .586 save percentage and 171 saves. Ledwick finished the year with 2 CNE defensive player of the week awards. 

Costanzo wrapped up 2025 on the CNE all-conference second team. Ben was the premiere face off guy for the Hawks this season, winning 205 of a potential 355 face offs. Costanzo took home CNE specialist of the week honors once this season. 

Novotny ended his sophomore year on the All-Conference Third Team. Michael led the team in goals this season with 32 and was second on the team in points with 32. 

Ballester finished his year as a member of the CNE All-Conference Third Team. In his first season as a Hawk Ballester made waves on the defensive end. He ended the year with 56 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers. He even made some noise on offense, netting 2 goals before year's end.

Weller rounds out the men's All-Conference awards with his spot on the CNE Community Service Team. Weller finished his senior season with a goal and two assists as well as the Hartford Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) co-president.

Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 10 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The Conference administers championships in 20 intercollegiate sports.
