New London, Conn. - The Hartford men's track and field competed both Friday and Saturday at the Division III New England Championships hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy. The team placed 14th out of 34 teams overall with 21 points.
Rapid Recap:
- Freshman Aidan Lybarger (Burlington, Vt.) took fourth place in the discus event with a distance of 50.08 meters.
- Senior Conor Convery (Port Jervis, N.Y.) earned second place in the hammer throw with an impressive mark at 52.96 meters.
- Senior Riley Brutvan (Gardiner, N.Y.) ran strong in the 3000 meter steeplechase as he took second place crossing the finish line at 9:33.25.
- The 4x400 meter relay team took ninth place with a time of 3:22.55. The Hawks to make up his team were junior Spencer Beane (North Reading, Mass.), freshman Aidan Quee (Springfield, Mass.), senior Brandon Edmund (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and senior Jovan Joseph (Wrentham, Mass.).
