BEVERLY, Mass. - On Monday, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced its spring weekly report with Freshman Melvin Sanchez (Meriden, Conn.) being named CNE Rookie of the Week.

Sanchez and the Hawks competed this past Saturday at the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College. Sanchez had a standout performance as he placed in 1st in the javelin throw tossing a distance of 54.09 meters. With this score, Melvin also takes place on the all-time podium at the fifth overall in University of Hartford history.

Melvin and the Hawks compete next at the University of Connecticut Multi-Meet hosted in Storrs this upcoming Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th.
