  • Captained both the basketball and baseball teams as a junior and senior.
  • As a basketball player, scored 1,142 career points and pulled down 545 rebounds.
  • One of only a handful of players to exceed 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in his career.
  • Won the team's MVP and rebounding awards in 1984-85, the Desire Award in 1983-84 and the Most Improved Player award in 1981-82 and 1982-83.
  • As a baseball player, was a right-handed pitcher and outfielder. 
  • Posted a 3.76 ERA with 128 strikeouts in 137 1/3 innings pitched.
  • Drafted by the New York Mets in the 21st round of the 1985 amateur draft.
