WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -
The Hartford men's and women's tennis teams fell to Boston University over the weekend. The men dropped a narrow, 4-3 decision at home while the women fell in Boston, 6-1. For the men, the match marked the end of the regular season. The women will have one more battle upcoming, against Albany at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Eric Floum was involved in perhaps the best two matches of the weekend for the Hawks. Playing alongside Josh Isaacson at Number Two doubles, Floum fought valiantly but fell in a tiebreak to the Terriers' Alex Halllenbeck and James Bernstein, 8-7 (7-4). The Hawks did not manage a win in doubles over the Terriers, meaning they would need four singles victories to take the match.

Floum did his part there, taking on Bernstein at the Number Four position. The Hartford freshman fought to the wire in the first set, which came down to another tiebreak. Floum emerged victorious, 7-6 (8-6). After dropping the second set 2-6, Floum once again had to battle to the wire in the tiebreak, finally pulling out an 11-9 winner.

Josh Isaacson and Marco Neves were also victors for the Hawks in singles. Playing at Number Two, Isaacson knocked back Hollenbeck, completing the Hartford revenge for the doubles victory, 6-3, 6-4. At the third position, Neves grabbed a 6-4 win in the first set before dropping his second set, 0-6. He rebounded in the third set, claiming a 7-5 victory and the match.

In his final appearance on the Hartford Tennis Courts, senior Aaron Kooden competed at Number Three doubles and Number Six singles. Although he did not come up with a victory, the three-time team captain fought hard in both matches, falling 8-2 in doubles with Edgardo Ureta and 6-1, 6-0 in singles.

The women visited Boston University on Friday afternoon, falling to the Terriers, 6-1. Livia Blasque, playing at Number One singles, put up the best performance by a Hartford player, pushing Francine Whu before falling, 6-3, 6-3. Emily Willhoft earned the Hawks' only point when she won her Number Six singles match by default.

The Hartford women were scheduled to play their season-ending home match on Sunday against Albany, but due to inclement weather, the match was pushed to this Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Hartford Tennis Courts.
