FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced the rosters for the 2010 NEILA Turfer East/West All-Star game on Wednesday afternoon. University of Hartford lacrosse standout Justin Bearse has been chosen to represent the Hawks in the contest, which will be played at 4:00 p.m. at Emerson College on Sunday, June 6.

Bearse, a four-year member of the lacrosse team, joins the West team as a member of its midfield unit. The Hyannis, Mass. native enjoyed a brilliant career at Hartford. Bearse never missed a game in his four seasons and logged time in 53 games while making 42 starts. The recent Hartford graduate netted 48 goals and dished out 27 assists for 75 career points. In addition, Bearse produced 14 games with multiple goals, including four hat tricks.

Bearse was one of five players to start all 14 games for the Hawks in 2010. A two-year captain, he produced a career-high 26 points on 14 goals and 12 assists. The midfielder graduated with a degree in insurance and finance last month from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Hartford finished 4-10 on the season and concluded America East conference play with a mark of 1-4. The Hawks posted the most wins since the 2003 campaign when they finished 9-8 overall. In addition, Hartford lost six games by two goals or less, including four by a single goal. The team, which graduates only a pair of seniors, will return all but one starter next season.
