WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - University of Hartford softball coach Diana Consolmagno has announced that the first annual alumni game will be held on Saturday, October 2. Former Hartford Softball players are encouraged to join the 2010-11 edition of the Hawks for a day of fun and games that includes an alumni game, homerun derby, food, trivia, raffles and much more. 

Saturday's festivities will kick-off at 10:30 a.m. with registration and open practice, followed by a modifield softball game featuring the Hartford alumni up against the current Hartford Hawks. Following the game, former Hawks will get the chance to swing for the fences with the inaugural homerun derby at 1:30 p.m. Each ball is $1.00 and all proceeds will be donated to the Hartford softball program.

The event wraps up with a picnic in honor of the softball alumni held outside of the Hartford Outdoor Athletics Complex. Hartford Hawks softball gear and raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the picnic. Families are welcome to join the event.

The cost for the first annual softball alumni game is $20 per person. Each participant will receive one tee-shirt and two complimentary homerun derby swings.
