WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District softball teams were announced with five members of the Hartford softball team featured. 

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Softball Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.

The five Hawks making the team were sophomore Katrina Baran (Townsend, Del.), junior Adelie Beebe (Sacramento, Calif.), senior Anita Farkash (Seaford, N.Y.), senior Carly Mayhood (Newton, N.J.) and sophomore Ella Zobel (Clarence, N.Y.). 

Baran became an everyday outfielder for the Hawks in 2026 being one of two Hawks to start all 41 games. Katrina ended the year with a slash line of .364/.407/.445 (AVG/SLG/OBP) with a team-leading 31 runs scored. In her 118 at bats she notched 13 RBIs, three doubles and a triple while stealing 12 bases. Baran would lead the team with 15 multi-hit games for the Hawks. Defensively Katrina had 54 putouts with two assists and a fielding percentage of .949. 

Beebe had a stellar junior season for the Hawks making 37 starts and 39 overall appearances. Adelie slashed .368/.434/.670 (AVG/SLG/OBP) while tying a program-record with single season RBIs with 39. She added eight homers, eight doubles and 24 runs scored with a 1.104 OPS. Defensively, Beebe had a perfect fielding percentage with 67 putouts and one assist and was later named to the CNE All-Conference 3rd Team. 

Farkash played a huge part in the Hawks success in her senior season starting 40 games and appearing in all 41. Anita finished the season with a .310/.397/.496 (AVG/SLG/OBP) slash line with four homers, nine doubles, 26 RBIs and 15 runs scored. In the field, Farkash led the team with 246 putouts and moved into 10th in program history with a career total of 589. She would be later named to the CNE All-Conference 3rd Team for her season. 

Mayhood would make 24 appearances and 17 starts in her final season for the Hawks. She finished her senior year ranked 5th in program history in career strikeouts (260) and wins (28). Carly ended the year with a 8-9 overall record and an ERA of 4.86 and 84 strikeouts. In conference play, Mayhood went 5-3 with a 2.56 ERA and an opponent batting average of .209. She was later named to the CNE All-Conference 3rd Team and was a member of the All-Hawk Team for 2025-26. This is Mayhood's second selection to the Academic All-District team. 

Zobel had a solid second year with the Hawks in 2026 making 25 appearances and 15 starts. Ella finished the year with a 8-5 record with a save and a ERA of 4.04. In her 86.2 innings Zobel would have 76 strikeouts to just 52 walks while allowing an opponent batting average of .240. At the plate she went 5-for-20 with five RBIs and a run scored.
