COMPLETE RESEULTS
STORRS, Conn. – The University of Hartford tennis team completed play in its first singles tournament of the Fall season at the UConn Invitational last weekend. In total, eight Hawks took the court at the tournament with junior
Jordan Badenko leading the way.
In his first season as a Hawk, Badenko made a push all the way to the final of the No. 1 singles flight. Badenko, a junior from Sydney Australia, dispatched Merrimack's Miguel Belfort in the quarterfinals of the flight, 6-3, 6-2. Badenko then posted a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Sacred Heart's Justin Pagan in the semifinals.
In the finals of the top flight, Badenko blanked Quinnipiac's Sebastian Barbero in the first set, 6-0. However, Barbero returned with a 6-4 win in the second set to force a tiebreaking third set. Barbero outlasted Badenko in that break, 14-12, to take the match.
Senior
Bogdan Nedelcu also put up a fight in the No. 7 singles flight. Nedelcu took a total of seven games before falling to Sacred Heart's Luka Bagi, 6-3, 6-4.

Edgardo Ureta, junior Alex Holdstien and freshmen
Nicholas Sharwarko and
Luis Montes also represented the Hawks in the tournament.
The Hawks are back in action October 5-7 at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn.
