The University of Hartford women's soccer team (5-2-0) saw its four-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss against Fordham (5-1-1) on Sunday afternoon at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium. After falling behind, 2-0, the Hawks cut the deficit in half on a goal from senior
Aaliyah Ingram in the 68th minute. Hartford ratcheted up the pressure late in the game but couldn't net the equalizer.
 Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
- Freshman Margaret Roughley put the Rams ahead, 1-0, in the 42nd minute on an unassisted goal. Roughley took possession near the end line and fired a shot across the mouth of the goal, tucking it inside the far post.
- Coming off a corner kick by Brooke Salmon, Fordham senior defender Nicole Bates collected a loose ball in traffic and back-heeled a shot past Hartford goalie Jessica Jurg to give the Rams a 2-0 advantage in the 53rd minute.
- Ingram took a pass from Kaila Lozada from five yards out and stuffed it past Fordham keeper Colleen Hickey for the Hawks' lone goal in the 68th minute.
 Â
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Â
- Fordham led in shots (9-5) and corner kicks (3-1). Roughley paced the Rams with three shots and Ingram led Hartford with two.
- The Rams hadn't allowed a goal in more than 360 minutes when Ingram scored for Hartford. Fordham had notched three consecutive shutout victories during that stretch.
