BOSTON — For the second time in as many weeks, Hartford women's soccer senior
Sierra Stone was named the America East co-Offensive Player of the Week, the organization announced on Monday.
Stone compiled six points to lead Hartford to a 2-0 record last week. Netting each of the Hawks' two goals in a 2-1 victory against Vermont on Thursday, the midfielder dished out a pair of assists to lead Hartford to a 2-1 defeat of Maine on Senior Day on Sunday.
A native of Hebron, Conn., Stone has been a key contributor to the Hawks' offense during league play. She has had a hand in each of Hartford's seven goals, scoring three times while dishing out four assists. In addition, Stone's 10 points in America East action rank fifth in the conference, while her four assists are the most in the league.
On the season, Stone leads the team with eight assists and 14 points, while her three goals are tied for second-most on the team. She enters the week as the America East's leader in assists and is second in points.
With her second career weekly award from the America East, Hartford boosts its season total to four. Senior
Kaila Lozada was tabbed the league's Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 26, while freshman
Doireann Fahey took home Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 16.
Earning three straight wins in league play, Hartford (6-5-1, 3-1 AE) is currently tied with Stony Brook for first in the America East standings with nine points. The Hawks have 11 days off before returning to action at Binghamton on Thursday, Oct. 17 (2:30 p.m.).
