NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Hartford baseball continues its 10-game road trip to start the season with a stop at Lipscomb for a three-game series starting Friday. First pitch of the weekend is set for 5 p.m. on Friday.
FIRST PITCH
- Sophomore pitcher Nicholas Dombkowski had an impressive showing in game one against Abilene Christian this past weekend, tossing seven innings of three hit ball, while allowing one run and striking out 10
- Sophomore outfielder John Thrasher recorded his second multi-hit game of the season this past weekend, going 2-4 with a double and a RBI in game two of the series.
- Thrasher is currently seventh in the conference with a .400 batting average and is tied for first with three doubles
- Senior Ashton Bardzell and junior Zachary Ardito tallied three runs each over the weekend against the Wildcats
- Receiving all but two first-place votes and 35 points in the preseason coaches poll, the Hawks are projected to finish on top of the America East in 2019
- Reigning America East Coach of the Year Justin Blood enters his eighth season as the program's all-time wins leader (170)
LIPSCOMB SCOUT
- The Bisons improved to 5-6 after topping Memphis in walk-off fashion, 3-2
- The Lipscomb offense is batting .269 with a total of 68 runs as a unit
- Redshirt sophomore Chris Bashlor has paced the Bisons' offense to start the season, hitting .385 with five hits in 12 plate appearances
- Tyler Guilfoil leads the Lipscomb pitching staff, starting one game and appearing in four games overall
- He has registered a 0.64 ERA over 14 innings of work, allowing one earned run on five hits and striking out 23
