BALTIMORE, Md. – Hartford softball looks to punch its ticket to the America East Tournament at UMBC, starting with a doubleheader on Friday. First pitch of game one is set for 12 p.m. A win by the Hawks in any of the three games, or two losses by Maine against Stony Brook, will secure a spot in next week's conference tournament, hosted by Hartford.
 
FIRST PITCH
  • Hartford enters the weekend after splitting a midweek doubleheader against Holy Cross
  • Sophomore Danielle Rocheleau continues to add her name to the program's record book, tying the single-season record for most RBI (34) in game one against the Crusaders
  • Her 63 hits leads the America East, while her 34 hits are fourth in the conference
  • Classmate Nicolette Barranger has also re-written the record book, tallying a program-best seven triples this season
  • Barranger holds the top spot in the category in the conference and is tied for fourth in Division I
  • Hartford continues to be one of the top defensive teams in the America East this season, registering a .958 fielding percentage, which leads the America East

SERIES HISTORY
  • Friday's first game will be the 47th meeting between UMBC and Hartford, with the Retrievers holding a 30-16 advantage
  • The Hawks scored their last victory against UMBC in 2016, topping the Retrievers, 4-0, in the second game of the three-game series
