WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Monday, Hartford Softball Head Coach Mairin Dudek announced that Sam Keltos was hired as the next full time softball assistant coach. 

"We are excited to welcome Sam onto our staff", said Dudek. "She will have an immediate impact in our bullpen working with the pitchers and catches. Her love for the game, attention to detail and commitment to developing student-athletes make her a perfect fit for the culture we continue to build at Hartford."

Keltos was a former NCAA Division I softball pitcher at Central Connecticut State University where she also attained her Bachelor's in exercise science and health promotion.

"I'm incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the University of Hartford softball program," Keltos shared. "It's clear there is a strong commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. I'm looking forward to becoming part of that culture, building relationships with our players, and helping them continue to grow, compete, and reach their full potential. I couldn't;t be more excited to get started!"

Keltos has years of experience in the coaching field already as she opened CKM Softball Academy in 2023. She co-leads the organization's pitching sessions and strength & Conditioning programs, focusing on athlete performance and development. 

Hartford ended the 2026 season with a 21-20 record including a 11-9 Conference of New England (CNE) record. The Hawks finished the year in the CNE Semifinals after a great playoff run with three wins eventually falling to Endicott College.
