WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – University of Hartford head men's soccer coach Tom Poitras announced the addition of Quenton Swift and Jacob Lissek to the coaching staff this season.
 
Swift is no stranger to the Hawks, as he was a four-year member of the men's soccer team from 2013-16. During his time at Hartford, he helped lead the team to three America East Championship appearances in 2013, 2014, and 2016. In addition, he was part of a team that set the program's first perfect record (8-0-0) on Al-Marzook Field in 2014. Playing as a midfielder, Swift racked up 40 appearances across his career and finished with three goals and three assists.
 
"I am really excited to add Quenton to our staff," Poitras said. "Quenton knows our program and was involved in three America East Finals in his four years. He will really add some energy to our program and it is great to have him back involved with his alma mater."
 
Graduating from Hartford with a bachelor's degree in Business Management in 2017, Swift played one season for Elm City Express of the NPSL, where he helped the club win the National Championship in its inaugural 2017 campaign.
 
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Lissek will serve as the team's goalkeeper coach. He currently plays professionally for local USL Championship side Hartford Athletic, where he has appeared nine times in the clubs' inaugural season. Before arriving at Hartford Athletic, Lissek spent time playing for USL sides Charlotte Independence, OKC Energy FC, and Penn FC, while also spending one season playing for MLS team FC Dallas.
 
"Jacob is a true professional and is in a position that many of our student-athletes aspire to reach," said Poitras. "Having the college experience as a student-athlete and the previous knowledge of what these guys deal with on a daily basis, Jacob is a great example of a former student-athlete that gets to live his dream of being a pro player."
 
Prior to starting his professional career in 2015, Lissek was a standout goalkeeper at Fairleigh Dickinson from 2010-13. As a four-year starter, he led the Knights to a 39-21-12 record and was part of a team that won the NEC Championship and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2012. Lissek currently holds the Knights' all-time career record for shutouts with 26. In addition, he was a NSCAA All-North Atlantic Region Third Team selection his junior year and a two-time member of the NEC All-Tournament Team during his career. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson in 2014 with a degree in management.
 
Hartford kicks off its 2019 season with a trip to Fullerton, Calif., to take on Cal State Fullerton on Friday, Aug. 30. The Hawks make their 2019 debut at Al-Marzook Field on Saturday, Sept. 21 when they host in-state foe Fairfield.
