Where Are They Now: Men's Basketball's Yolonzo Moore II

A standout member of Hartford's men's basketball team from 2011-15, Texas native Yolonzo Moore II made the journey back to West Hartford less than one year after graduating to join head coach John Gallagher's staff.

Moore's college career was impressive, as he helped lead the Hawks to back-to-back 17 win seasons (2012-13, 2013-14), and the program's first-ever Division I postseason appearance — a trip to the CIT in 2013. Moore, a management major who made starts in 124 of his 125 career appearances, surpassed the 1,000-point plateau as a senior in 2015. His name is inked throughout the Hawks' record book, as he ranks No. 8 in assists (289) and No. 8 in minutes per game (31.6).

After earning his degree in management and returning to the Lone Star State to work alongside former Hawks' standout Jaret von Rosenberg, Moore got an offer he couldn't refuse: an opportunity to return to West Hartford and work alongside his former coach as the Hawks' Director of Operations. One year later, he was promoted to assistant coach, a position that he has assumed since 2017.

Jeff Dooley, the voice of the Hartford Hawks, had a chance to catch up with the Hawks' assistant coach. To learn more about Moore's journey, check out the interview below.
