Nicole Etta | Volleyball | Cold Spring, N.Y.
A defensive specialist,
Nicole Etta combined to log time in 88 matches and 321 sets during her four-year career with the volleyball team. She totaled 260 digs during her career, adding 42 service aces. Helping the Hawks qualify for the America East Tournament in back-to-back seasons, she was a part of a team that advanced to the title match of the conference tournament for the first time since 1996.
Etta, who earned America East Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction four times during her career, will graduate with a degree in marketing.
If you could relive one moment from your career as a Hartford Hawk, what would it be?
Our America East Tournament semifinal win at New Hampshire.
What was your favorite Hartford Athletics event that you attended as a fan, and why?
The men's basketball game at 6 a.m. against Niagara. Everyone came together, athlete or not, and filled the entire gym.
What passions do you hope to pursue after graduation?
I will be working at Cigna in Bloomfield. I will be staying in Hartford and coming back to cheer on the Hawks!
What lessons will you take from your time at the University of Hartford?
Don't take it for granted. Once this chapter ends, its over. Cherish every moment of it. Hartford taught me that athletics carries over into every aspect of your life. Never half do it. Give everything you have, the only person you are neglecting is yourself.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused the abrupt end to winter and spring sports for the 2019-20 academic year, as well as the cancelation of several end-of-the-year activities for all student-athletes.
