Sierra Stone | Women's Soccer | Hebron, Conn.
A four-year member of the women's soccer team,
Sierra Stone was one of the most decorated midfielders in program history. Becoming the first Hawk to be named the America East's Midfielder of the Year twice in her career (2017, 2019), she also became the second player in conference history to win three major awards, as she was tabbed the Rookie of the Year in 2016.
Amassing eight America East All-Conference awards in her career, Stone was also a two-time US Coaches All-Region and a two-time NEWISA All-New England selection. She accumulated 50 points during her career, including 26 assists, which are the fifth-most in program history. Stone led Hartford to a pair of America East Regular-Season Championships (2016, 2018) and two appearances in the title game of the America East Championship (2016, 2019).
In the classroom, Stone is a two-time America East Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete (2018, 2019). A three-time America East All-Academic Team selection and four-time America East Commissioner's Honor Roll member, the accounting major is also a two-time US Scholar All-East Region and a CoSIDA All-District 1 honoree.
If you could relive one moment from your career as a Hartford Hawk, what would it be?
I would relive the moment we beat Stony Brook in double overtime my freshman year to win the America East Regular Season Championship.
What was your favorite Hartford Athletics event that you attended as a fan, and why?
I enjoyed being a part of women's lacrosse's inaugural season and being a fan at their first game in history.
What passions do you hope to pursue after graduation?
I will be pursuing my Masters in Accounting at Villanova University and following that hopefully finding myself doing something with soccer.
What lessons will you take from your time at the University of Hartford?
I learned so much during my time here, but I am going to take away to live in the moment and cherish the present.
