WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior Gabriela Gamory of the Hartford women's soccer team won the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture's Dean of Students Recognition of Service Award, the school announced.
 
The award identifies students who demonstrate outstanding qualities in their achievements and membership in student organizations during the academic year. Recipients are selected on involvement in programs that contribute to the quality of student life and the image of the University' ability to think and act independently on behalf of the organization; ability to inspire and motivate fellow students; and demonstration of admirable leadership qualities. The recipient must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA as well.
 
"It is no surprise that Gaby has been recognized with this award." said head coach John Natale. "In her four years she has never wavered on her commitment to excellence and involvement in the Hartford Community. When Gaby is not on the field, she is fully immersed in her studies and academic clubs. She came to the University of Hartford to better herself, and in the process has bettered all of those who have been privileged enough to know her."
 
Serving as President of the Biomedical Engineering Society, Gamory is also a member of the CETA Leadership Society's LEAD Team. A three-year member of the organization, she assists the college and larger university with all admission events for undergraduate students.  
 
"I was unaware of the impact that I had on people, especially now in the virtual space," said Gamory. "I was trying my best to connect both current and prospective students to the best of my ability. This award not only validates the hard work I've put in but reminds me why I did go above and beyond my typical job requirements. It's a great feeling to realize that the work you do really does have a positive effect on others, and I'm proud to contribute to the increasing enrollment in CETA!"
