Hartford Caps Off Homestand Hosting NJIT

Hawks Look To Even Season Series As Highlanders Enter Connecticut

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. – A four-match homestand will come to a close 7 p.m. Tuesday when the Hartford volleyball team hosts NJIT for a midweek matchup inside the Hartford Volleyball Gym.

Junior outside hitter Uzezi Ijoma enters the match second on the team in two categories. With 133 kills and 28 blocks, Ijoma provides a nice balance at the net for the Hawks. Another Hawk who helps to provide a nice offensive-defensive balance is senior outside hitter Greta De Gasper. The Colle Umberto, Italy native leads the team with 143 kills. De Gasper also leads the team with 175 digs.

Freshman Kylee Connally leads the team with 215 assists. The Dallas native has also served nine aces. Leading the team in service aces is senior setter Lika Nkenchor, who enters the match with 12 aces.

NJIT enters the match with a 6-16 record. The Highlanders have dropped 12 of their previous 13 sets. Hartford will look to return the favor after dropping a three-set match at NJIT Sept. 23 in Newark, N.J.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The match will be streamed live on Hartford Hawks All-Access. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hartford Volleyball Gym.
