BOSTON – Senior Emma Curry of the Hartford Softball team was named the America East Player of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
 
Curry earned her first career honor after posting a .636 batting average, 1.727 OPS, one double, two triples and five runs scored in the series sweep against Maine. Within the first two games of the series, she tied and surpassed her career high in triples, while also posting a new single-game best for hits (4). 
 
The Atlantic Highlands, N.J., native leads the Hawks' lineup with two triples and ranks third on the team with three homeruns. Curry is slashing also a career-high .270 batting average on the year.
 
Curry becomes the second Hawk to earn a conference accolade this season after Julianna Kocenski earned Pitcher of the Week honors on February 22.
 
Curry and the Hawks return to the diamond this Wednesday, May 11 to take part in the America East Playoffs. Hartford is set take on host Binghamton in the opening game of the week at 11 a.m.
