LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Hartford softball team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaching Association (NFCA) for posting one of the top grade-point averages in NCAA Division I in 2021-22. In addition, 16 members of the Hawks softball team received Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete honors, which recognizes individuals who own a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better, from the organization.
"I am very proud of what our team accomplished this year on and off the field," said head coach
Mairin Dudek. "To be the softball team with the highest GPA in the America East and Top 10 in all of Division I is a testament to our players' work ethic as true student-athletes."
With 16 student-athletes earning Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete honors, Hartford ties the program-record which was previously set last year when the Hawks posted the seventh-highest mark in NCAA Division I softball. Highlighting the impressive list of honorees are

As a team, Hartford combined for a 3.70 GPA, which was the fourth-highest mark among all NCAA Division I squads. In addition, the Hawks ranked atop the America East with the highest cumulative GPA.
The softball team knocked it out of the park this past year, as 18 of its 20 (90%) student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll, with 16 also receiving Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction.
