HARTFORD, CT – Forty-two University of Hartford student-athletes participated in the 2023 Commencement Ceremonies Sunday at the XL Center.

More than half of the student-athletes earned at least cum laude honors with 19 of them earning the highest honor of Summa cum laude. Five student-athletes earn Cum laude honors and six more earned Magna cum laude honors.

Several student-athletes earned student awards during commencement, including men's soccer player Alec Boyd. He earned the Marion A. Bills Memorial Scholarship which is awarded annually to a deserving and qualifying student who wishes to attend a graduate program at a top university in Great Britain. Boyd will attend Imperial College London to study in its MSc Economics & Strategy for Business program. He also earned the Solomon Elsner Award.

Track & Field athlete Cole Cayer and softball player Mara Sczecienski also earned the Solomon Elsner Award, while softball player Caylee English was the Regents' Honor Award recipient for the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions.
