University of Hartford Head volleyball coach Vinh Nguyen has announced his nine-member class for the upcoming 2023 season. Six of the nine recruits hail from the state of Connecticut. Eight of the nine members will be freshman with one graduate transfer.
  COACHES COMMENTS: Sydney is a transfer pin hitter that has a high volleyball IQ. She is a 6-rotation player that is fast twitch and does a great job at scoring. We look forward to her impact on the team with her ball control and range on defense.
  COACHES COMMENTS: Caitie is an experienced setter with the ability to play both front and back row. Her court knowledge sets her apart and she plays smart at the net with well-rounded blocking and attacking skills. Her experienced playing beach and grass volleyball make her a dynamic option and consistent competitor. COACHES COMMENTS: Emilie is a quick defender who already has experience training with members of our coaching staff. Her height contributes to her broad defensive range and effectiveness from the service line. COACHES COMMENTS: Kaia is a very consistent passer with a lot of range on defense. She is versatile and can set the out of system balls. Kaia is a great addition to our roster and will add depth in the libero position. COACHES COMMENTS: Maya is a fast twitch jumper that has a powerful arm swing. In addition to being a 6- rotation player, Maya does a great job on defense. She has a tremendous up-side and will add depth to pin hitters. COACHES COMMENTS: Kalle is a talented 6-rotation pin hitter that is very resourceful with shots when attacking. She will also add depth to our hitters. COACHES COMMENTS: Jenna is an explosive middle blocker that is laterally quick on blocking and dynamic on transition. She has a great volleyball IQ and is a tremendous competitor. We look forward to her immediate contribution in our program. COACHES COMMENTS: Liahnna is a versatile player who has trained as a setter and libero. She has played both roles in high school and club volleyball. She will mainly focus on setting for us, but her defensive ball control and range is an added plus to her position. COACHES COMMENTS: Hannah is a graduate transfer middle hitter who will bring experience and depth to our middle position. She is quick laterally and does a great job on transition.
