SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Hartford men's cross country competed at the CNE Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon racing to a fifth place finish out of 10 teams.
Rapid Recap:
- The Hawks were lead by senior Riley Brutvan (Gardiner, N.Y.) racing with a time of 26:20.24 claiming 13th place in the 8k event. Brutvan was also named third team all-conference for finishing in the top 15.
- Freshman Owen Klein (Coventry, R.I.) crossing the finish line with a time of 26:28.74 in 17th place just behind Brutvan.Â
- Sophomore Trae McIntyre (Troy, N.Y.) ran a time of 27:14.05 nabbing 22nd place, next for the Hawks is sophomore Keller Casey (Charlton, N.Y.) grabbing four place of the Hawks team and 32nd overall with a time of 28:00.72.
- Senior Jovan Joseph (Wrentham, Mass.) was next for the Hawks with a time of 28:07.53 racing into 36th place overall and 5th place of the Hawks.

Connor Green stated this after the end of the race, "This was a race that collectively ended with nothing but smiles. Placement wise they all ran fantastic, it just so happened that the entire field also had a fantastic day."
"We had some excellent performances, lead by Riley Brutvan, who earned the programs first ever CNE All-Conference honors. We are very proud of the work the men's team put into this race and leave Springfield with goals of climbing higher next year."
