HARTFORD QUICK HITSÂ
- Hartford exploded for five runs in the final two innings to force a darkness-induced tie with nationally-ranked RPI. The Hawks fell 7-4 in the opener.
- Junior Olivia Wolk leads the team in hitting, slashing .487/.523/.667 on the season. She is second in the CCC with a .487 batting average.
- She leads the team with 19 hits and is second on the team lead with 10 runs scored. She is second on the team, and fourth in the CCC, with 12 RBI, and is a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases.
- Graduate student Mara Sczecienski is slashing .386/.404/.659 with a team-high 16 RBI, which is tied for second in the CCC. The second baseman has 17 hits with three doubles, three triples, one homer, and a team-high 11 runs scored. She is also a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts as the Hawks are 20-of-24 on the season.Â
- Freshman Alexis Sealey (.282/.333/.385) is off to solid offensive starts.Â
- As a team, the Hawks have posted a 3.18 ERA, good for fourth in the league, with freshman Gracie Hopkins leading the charge. The rookie is eighth in the CCC with a 2.23 ERA, allowing five earned runs over 15.2 innings on 21 hits.
- Sophomore Carly Mayhood (2-1) leads the team, and is fourth in the CCC, with 29 strikeouts and has an ERA of 2.45. Sealey (3-2) is holding opposing batters with a team-low .231 batting average.
SCOUTING WENTWORTH
- Wentworth took a doubleheader from Eastern Nazarene last Friday and will host Simmons today (March 29).
- The Leopards are the top offensive team in the CCC with a team batting average of .306
- Freshman Brianna Miller and sophomore Kyla Igawa are the catalysts for the Leopards' offense. Miller is slashing .488/.533/.683 with four doubles, two triples, and four RBI, while Igawa is slashing .404/.434/.489 with four doubles and eight RBI.
- Graduate Kaitlin Pettenger leads the team with 13 runs scored and 11 walks.
- Junior Katie Kranz has a team-high 10 RBI.
- Sophomore Julie Schriver and junior Jess Rowe are the two pitchers for Wentworth. Schriver leads the team with 11 appearances and is seventh in the CCC with a 2.20 ERA.
