WEST HARTFORD, Conn. With the fall season just around the corner, the Hartford Women's golf team looks to swing into their start of 2024. After finishing last season with five top five finishes the Hawks look to continue their success heading into this year. Head Coach Pete Stankavich heads into his 17th year at Hartford, and Assistant coach John Aylsworth enters his 7th year.
A New Look:
The Hawks roster coming into this year looks much different than years past, as seven players from last season will not be returning for the 2024-25 season. The Hawks welcome in two Freshmen Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.) and Jacqueline Tran (Waterford, Conn.) As well as welcoming two new additions to the roster junior Charlee Nagle (Cheshire, Conn.) and senior Tessa Succo (Plainville, Conn.).
The Returners:
Although there are few returning players to this year's roster, their impact will be Instrumental to the Success of this year's team. As the two returners for the Hawks are sophomore Julia Smith (Plainville, Conn.) and sophomore Abigail Crabtree (Bellport, NY)
How It'll Go Down:
Hartford will start their season on the road as they head north to Brunswick, ME at Brunswick Country Club for the Polar Bear Shootout. Following that they will host the Gilette Ridge Invitational at Gilette Ridge Golf Club on Sep. 21st and 22nd. Shortly after the Hawks will travel to Williamstown, MA for the Williams College Invitational on Sep. 28th and 29th. After a short break Hartford will again find themselves in MA for the New England Intercollegiate Championship on Oct. 19th and 20th . The Hawks finish out their season by hosting the Battle at Bull's Bridge at Bull's Bridge Golf Club on Oct. 28th.
