WINDSOR, Conn. - The Hawks played host and competed in the 2025 Women's Golf Conference of New England Championship at Keney Park Golf Course in Windsor, Conn. Groups began play on Saturday, and moved into Sunday in this two round event. The Hawks would come away with second place out of six teams.
Rapid Recap:
- Freshman Maris Branyan (Trumbull, Conn.) lead the way for the Hawks shooting back to back 85s (+15) for a total score of +30 and earning fifth place.
- Senior Charlee Nagle (Cheshire, Conn.) finished in 9th overall, scoring an 87(+17) on day one and a 92 (+22) on day two.
- Graduate Student Tessa Susco (Plainville, Conn.) finished in 10th place for Hartford, shooting an 87 (+17) on Saturday and a 93 (+23) on Sunday.
- Sophomore Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.) would place 12th overall with a round one score of 88 (+18) and a 94 (+24) in round two.
- Rounding things out for Hartford, freshman Lilly Sprister (Rutland, Mass.) scored a 101 (+31) in both round one and two, placing 17th overall.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Hawks finished with two birdies over the weekend coming by way of Susco and DeBenedetto.
- Suffolk would take home first place, with an overall team score of 695, edging out the Hawks' 711.
- Amanda Forziati and Abby Flanagan from University of New England tied for individual first place with Krisna Mahendran from Suffolk University with combines scores of 164 (+24).
Post Tournament Press:
"It was a tough weekend weather-wise, but we pushed through as a team, and I am proud of our second place finish. As our coach likes to say "When Hawks and Eagles join forces, good things happen," and they did!" Branyan said following round two.

The Hawks will round out the Fall season by playing in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship at the Captain's Course in Brewster, Mass.
