BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - Over the Weekend, the Hawks women's golf team played in the Gillette Ridge Invitational at the Gillette Ridge Golf Club, finishing the tournament in seventh place.
Round 1 Recap:
- Franklin Pierce leads the event after the first round with a team score of +29. The University of New Haven is in second place at a score of +30 and in third is Trinity College (Conn.) at +54. The Hawks sit in 7th place with a team score of +114.
- Junior Julia Smith (Plainville, Conn.) leads Hartford with a score of 88 (+16).
- Next for the Hawks is freshman Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.) with a score of 101 (+29) in 29th place followed by sophomore Abigail Crabtree (Bellport, N.Y.) at 104 (+32) in 30th place.
- Senior Tessa Succo (Plainville, Conn.) rounded out the scorers with a score of 109 (+37) in 33rd.
Inside the Numbers:
- Wynter Flores from the University of New Haven leads the pack shooting a 74 (+2) in the first round.
- Freshman Jacqueline Tran (Waterford, Conn.) placed tied for 33rd at an individual capacity with a score of 109.
Round 2 Recap:
- Franklin Pierce would win the event posting a team score of +41.
- Junior Julia Smith (Plainville, Conn.) led Hartford in the tournament placing in 18th overall with a 89 (+17) in day two.
- Freshman Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.) jumped two spots in day two shooting a 93 (+21) to finish in 27th.
- Sophomore Abigail Crabtree (Bellport, N.Y.) was next coming in 30th with a score of 103 (+31) on day two.
- Junior Charlee Nagle (Cheshire, Conn.) jumped five spots to claim a 31st place finish shooting a 100 (+28) on day two.
Inside the Numbers:
- Kesinee Prukmathakul won the event representing Franklin Pierce ending the tournament with a +7 overall with a 71 (-1) score on day two.
Up Next:
Hartford will compete in the Williams College Invitational on September 28th and 29th at Taconic Golf Club.
