WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – On Monday, the Conference of New England (CNE) released its weekly award sheet in which senior forward Rebecca Opdenbrouw (Vernon, Conn.) was named as the CNE Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
In two match ups this week, Opdenbrouw was everywhere, tallying a total of 11 points in the Hawks' pair of statement conference wins. In game one against Nichols College, she netted two goals and picked up an assist en route to a 7-0 victory over the Bison. Opdenbrouw kept it going in game two against Wentworth Institute of Technology as she again scored two goals and snagged two assists to boot in the 6-1 victory.
When looking conference-wide, Opdenbrouw has made a name for herself, sitting atop multiple statistical categories. She leads the CNE in both total points with 34 and game-winning goals with six. Opdenbrouw also stands in second place in both goals and assists with 13 and eight, respectively. With only one game left on the schedule in the regular season, Opdenbrouw has put herself in serious contention for CNE Offensive Player of the Year for her fabulous 2025 campaign.
