New London, Conn. - Hartford women's track and field competed both Friday and Saturday at the Division III New England Championships hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy. The team placed 14th overall with 23 points, with members of our team having record breaking performances.
Top Results:
- Senior Cali Leonard (Boston, Mass.) had a strong showing this weekend taking fourth place in the 100m hurdles event with a time of 14.53 seconds. Prior to that in the prelims she ran 14.51 seconds which is now ranked #28 in division III. Along with that Leonard's performance has set a new first place all-time mark for University of Hartford beating out the previous first place holder by 0.08 seconds.
- Freshman Tamara Greene (Hartford, Conn.) finished just behind teammate Leonard to earn sixth place with a time of 14.89 seconds
- Junior Destinee Majett (Brick Township, N.J.) placed eighth in the hammer throw event throwing a distance of 44.11 meters.
- Junior Madison DiPasquale (Wallingford, Conn.) placed fourth in the shot put throwing a distance of 12.89 meters. Madison has out-beat her own record previously set at 12.33 meters and continues to hold the first place all-time mark in Hartford history. She also placed sixth in the discus throw event with a distance of 40.50 meters.
- Sophomore Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.) placed third in the high jump event where she cleared a height of 1.66 meters.
