Three Hawks and Women’s Track & Field Team Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. - This morning, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Women's All-Academic Athletes and All-Academic Teams were announced including three hawks and the women's track & field team. 

The USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams and All-Academic Athletes program recognizes the nation's top track & field athletes and teams both inside and outside the classroom. In order to be included in the All- Academic Athletes, student athletes must have a grade point average of a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period. They also must have either finished among the top 50 individuals on TFRRS or have competed as a member on the top 35 relay teams on TFRRs. For teams to be included in the All-Academic Teams, the cumulative GPA must be at least a 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent grading period.

The three hawks making the list include freshman Tamara Greene (Hartford, Conn.), sophomore Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.), and senior Cali Leonard (Boston, Mass.) 

 Greene during her freshman season earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 100-meter hurdles. She was also named to the CNE All-Conference Second Team in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 4x100 meter relay. Her performances earned her Hartford's Female Newcomer of the Year. 
 
Murphy earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in both the high jump and multi-events for indoor (pentathlon) and outdoor (heptathlon) seasons. Ranked 16th nationally in the indoor high jump, she also earned First Team CNE All-Conference honors in the event. A CNE Athlete of the Week (4/14) and All-Hawk Team selection, she was recognized academically as well with College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. 

Leonard earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 100-meter hurdles and holds school records in both the indoor 60-meter hurdles (9.08) and outdoor 100-meter hurdles (14.36). She was named First Team CNE All-Conference in the 100-meter hurdles and Second Team as part of the 4x100 meter relay. Her success extended beyond the track, earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and CNE Academic All-Conference honors. 

Alongside the three hawks, the women's team earned their All-Academic Team honors with a cumulative GPA of 3.38.
