WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – On Tuesday, Hartford Tennis head coach Jeff Splinter announced Harry Cohen would be joining the inaugural coaching staff as an assistant coach.
"We are excited to welcome Harry into the tennis family we are building here at Hartford. From the first time we spoke it was clear Harry comes from a competitive tennis background including junior tournaments and a successful collegiate career and we are thrilled he can share that intensity and knowledge with our student athletes. He will have a great energy and enthusiasm that all our new student athletes will draw from as we begin our inaugural division 3 season"
Cohen joins the Hawks after serving as the varsity boys' head coach at Beverly High School in Massachusetts, where he led the program's training, match preparation, and player development efforts. In 2024, he was the varsity girls' head coach at Beaver Country Day School, guiding the team through a competitive spring season. His coaching résumé also includes tennis professional roles at tennis clubs across the country, including Culver City Tennis Clinics (CA), The Weymouth Club (MA), South Yarmouth Tennis Club (MA), and Malibu Tennis Club (CA), where he coached athletes of all ages and skill levels.
A Southern California native, Cohen competed at a high level as a junior and went on to play collegiate tennis at Sonoma State University before finishing his career at Chapman University, where he competed in the top singles and doubles positions. He credits the sport with instilling discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic, which he now works to pass on to his players.
Cohen graduated from Chapman University in 2022 with a bachelor's in Communications.
