Johnson Wins Second CNE Defensive Player of the Week Selection

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Monday, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced its weekly honor roll with senior goalkeeper Sejal Johnson (Weddington, N.C.) winning the CNE Defensive Player of the Week Honors for the second time this season. 

Johnson made six saves this week as Hartford went 2-0. Sejal made a single save in a 5-1 victory over Wellesley College. On Saturday, Johnson recorded her second shutout of 2025 making five saves in a crucial CNE victory over Endicott College. So far this season Sejal has made 34 saves with a 82.9% save percentage with a record of 6-2-1. 

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE OF NEW ENGLAND:
Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III Athletic Conference composed of 11 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The Conference administers championships in 20 intercollegiate sports.
