WINDSOR, Conn. - The Hawks kicked off their season Saturday as they placed sixth in the Hartford Hawks Women's Invitational. The tournament would be condensed to one round, as wet conditions would result in a termination of Sunday's second round.
Rapid Recap:
- Freshman Maris Brayan (Trumbull, Conn.) lead the Hawks in scoring shooting an 89(+19), and tying for 22nd place.
- Sophomore Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.) would be next up on the score sheet for Hartford shooting a 92 (+22) and coming T27.
- Freshman Leah Petruzzi (Southington, Conn.), senior Charlee Nagle (Cheshire, Conn.), and junior Abigial Crabtree (Belport, N.Y.) came in T31 with a score of 96 (+26)
- Graduate Student Tessa Susco (Plainville, Conn.) rounded out the scoring for Hartford coming in T35 with a score of 97 (+27)
- Hartford Independent, freshman Kendra St. Marie (Killingly, Conn.) finished with a score of 86 (+16).Â
- Bentley would take home first place after the first round, and Isabel Gonzalez-Villarreal for Bentley would finish with the best overall score of 77 (+7)
Up Next:
The Hawks will travel north to Middlebury, Vt for their only away tournament of the year on September 20-21st to compete in the George Phinney Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College.
