WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Hartford Women's Golf team hosted The Ruckus at Williamsburg National Golf Course in the Old Dominion. The Hawks would place fourth out of six teams, with Drew University taking first place.
Rapid Recap:
- Freshman Maris Branyan (Trumbull, Conn.) lead the way for the Hawks shooting an 84 in round one and 86 in round two, placing sixth overall.
- Freshman Lilly Sprister (Rutland, Mass.) would place 11th shooting a 92 in day one, and 89 in the second round.
- Graduate Student Tessa Susco (Plainville, Conn.) would come in 12th place shooting a 91 in the first round and a 92 in the second round.
- Sophomore Gabby DeBenedetto (Southbury, Conn.) would place 15th with a 95 round one score, and a 90 round two score.
- Freshman Leah Petruzzi (Southington, Conn.) came in 15th as well, scoring a 97 in the first round, and a 88 in the second round.
- Junior Abigail Crabtree (Bellport, N.Y.) finished in 17th place shooting a 95 in the first round and a 91 in the second round.
- Senior Charlee Nagle (Cheshire, Conn.) finished in 20th place shooting a 99 on Saturday, and a 92 on Sunday.
Inside the Numbers:
- Hartford finished both rounds with six birdies.
- Petruzzi secured an Eagle for the Hawks on hole 11 in the second round (Par 4)
- The Hawks would shoot a combined 142 over par
- Drew's Roxy Riles would take home individual first place shooting a combined three over par over both rounds.
