GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Wednesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's Cross Country / Track & Field teams were announced with graduate student
Kayla Pelletier (Southington, Conn.) being named as a 2nd Team Academic All-American.
This honor recognizes the top student-athletes for their exceptional performance both academically and athletically. The student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and a top-50 individual performance at the 2025 NCAA regional competition. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® track & field team you must be a top-50 regional ranking in single event (indoor or outdoor). CSC All-Americans are voted on and chosen by members of the College Sports Communicators organization from around the country.
Pelletier becomes the first CSC Academic All-American in program history and is the first female to be recognized since both Imani Jenkins and Christina Stone were named in 2024-25.
Kayla finished her Hartford career in style winning the NCAA Division III National Championship in the javelin throw back on May 23rd. She would hit a distance of 45.73 meters while having the three best throws in the competition. Pelletier was the first U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) major award winner in school history being crowned as the Mid-East Region Field Athlete of the Year for the outdoor season. Pelletier earned 1st Team All-American honors and is the first 1st Team All-American in school history. She was a USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field All-Region selection, CNE All-Conference 1st Team selection and was a two-time CNE Athlete of the Week in 2026.
