The Hartford men started singles play ahead, 2-0, thanks to the doubles point and a default at No. 6 singles. They proceeded to pick up additional singles wins at Nos. 2, 3 and 5 to earn the team match win.

Holdstein played up to No. 2 singles on his senior day, opening with a 7-5 win in the first set. After dropping the second set, 6-1, Holdstein outlasted AIC's Boris Tiberkov, 8-6, in the tiebreak before Tiberkov retired.
