WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Hartford men's tennis team opened its dual match schedule falling to the visiting UConn Huskies by a 6-1 margin. The Hawks were led by junior Nichola Sharwarko who scored the lone point of the afternoon defeating UConn's Andrew Ginzberg in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. 
Rookie's William Drumwright and Alexander Romaine also took a victory on Wednesday afternoon winning at the second doubles position. The pair combined for an 8-4 decision over the Huskies Joshua Palmer and Zac McEntee. UConn earned the lone doubles point with victories at first and third doubles. 
Romaine also forced a third set decision before conceding at third singles. After dropping the opening set 6-1, Romaine battled to take a 6-3 victory and force the deciding set, falling by a 6-0 score. The Hawks also forced a tie breaker at first and sixth singles with Ryan Lugtu in the top position and Daniel Rombola in the sixth position. 
The Hawks continue a three-match home stand on Saturday, September 20 when they welcome the St. Francis Terriers to the Hartford Tennis Courts. The match, which is part of a doubleheader with the women's team is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
