Hawks Collect America East Honors

Sophomore Skyler Schaar was named all-conference and Head Coach Torr Terranova collected Coach of the Year honors in the America East's end of year honors, the conference announced today.

Albany's Jovana Kenic was named the conference's Player and Rookie of the Year. Major award winners were determined in a vote by the conference's head coaches, who could not vote for their own team while the All-Conference honorees were put forward by their own coaches based on team championship placing.

Schaar played at the No. 1 singles position for the bulk of the year, picking up key wins against St. Peter's Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Bentley and Franklin Pierce. She also added four wins in doubles action, three when paired with Ariel Haber in the fall semester.

Terranova showed strong leadership for the Hawks in their final season as a program, keeping the players motivated to continue to work hard through a difficult situation.
