Box Score WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford women's lacrosse rallied with four goals in the last 12 minutes but couldn't seal the win in its home opener against neighboring foe CCSU. The Blue Devils move to 1-1 for the season with the 11-8 victory, while the Hawks fall to 0-2.

- Hartford came out of the gate hot, scoring the first two goals for an early 2-0 lead.Â
- Sophomore Melissa Gratwicke scored Hartford's first goal about a minute into the game before senior Billy McLaughlin found the back of the net at 11 minutes.
- CCSU responded with four back-to-back goals before rookie Jordan Smith could score on a free position shot at 21 minutes to bring the score to 4-3. The Blue Devils scored two more goals in the first half to secure its 6-3 lead.
- Hartford controlled the last 12 minutes of the game, scoring four goals to CCSU's one, but it wasn't enough to close the deficit, as the Devils took the 11-8 victory.
- Rookie goalie Emma Privitera set a program record with 16 saves between the posts for Hartford.
- McLaughlin led the way for the Hawks, scoring five points off of two goals and three assists. McLaughlin had a hand in four of Hartford's five goals in the second half.
- Also scoring for Hartford were sophomores Kaitlyn D'Andrea, Debbie Phillips and Emily Steele, and freshman Jessica Harrison.
- CCSU's Carson Abelberger scored a game-leading five goals.
