Women's Lacrosse Drops Decision to LIU Brooklyn

Box Score WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford women's lacrosse outscored LIU Brooklyn in the last 20 minutes, but it wasn't enough to close the deficit, dropping a 16-6 decision to the Blackbirds. The Hawks fall to 0-5 on the season while LIU Brooklyn improves to 1-4.

The Blackbirds went on a six-goal shooting streak in the first ten minutes, before sophomore Megan Miller broke it up with her fourth goal of the season to put the Hawks on the board. Less than a minute later, sophomore Kaitlyn D'Andrea put another one in the back of the net with an assist from Miller. LIU Brooklyn put six more away in the first half to put the game out of reach. The Hawks scored four goals in the second half, with three in the last eight minutes to make it 16-6.

  • Sophomore Megan Miller had a hand in five of Hartford's six goals, putting three in the back of the net while adding two assists.
  • Miller's three goals mark her first hat trick of the 2019 season.
  • Rookie Jessica Harrison scored a career-high two goals, including one man-up goal and one man-down goal. Both were in the last eight minutes of the game.
  • Rachel Masullo fueled the Blackbirds' offense, scoring eight points on six goals and two assists.
